this is one of my favorite pictures from the new year’s soiree my roommates and i hosted. my best friend, de, and i being ridiculously silly, plus i really dug my outfit that night. dress is by french connection, with a lovely bustier top and a layer of tulle underneath. i wore it with footless wolford tights, my louboutins and a necklace given to me by the lovely ladies of Tuleste Market. Their stuff is absolutely gorgeous, especially the art deco neckalce…a better shot of my necklace below:

silly rabbit…

February 5, 2009

Today was one of those days where nothing really worked out the way I’d planned. My ebay auctions didn’t sell. Those Chloe boots I’d been watching went for over $1000. My shoes were absolutely killing the balls of my feet by mid-afternoon, to the point where I had to buy a pair of flat boots to relieve the pain.

But what totally ruined my hopes of making today’s clothing choices a winter-induced-outfit-rut breaker was my vintage rabbit fur coat. I bought it during my junior year of college at a vintage fair, and it hasn’t really ever seen the light of day. I decided to bust it out today, paired with my new black J Brands, the (painfully) fierce anna sui boots, an alexander wang top and the proenza sunglasses I picked up at Opening Ceremony the other week. I left the house feeling totally jazzed, until I looked down and realized that the white fur had shed all over my legs and I looked more like I got into a fight with the abominable snowman than a winter-ready fashionista on the go. And I couldn’t just sit in the office and sulk all day- I had appointments to go on- which I dutifully attended, leaving clumps of fur in my wake.

I end this with a sincere apology to the sales reps at Tim Hamilton, who had to pick the fur off the newly arrived women’s samples. The rabbit is back in its cage, guys.

there are many reasons to be jealous of erin wasson, these chloe boots being just one. or two, i guess, if you want to get all technical about it.
